That's the nature of the game. Have them drop from every boss in heroics for example, with a smallish chance of dropping from the end boss in normals. The molten front craft plans require such large numbers of orbs, people'd still not swim in them except the "professional" players who spend hours a day running heroics, but they're swimming in them already.

All it will do is shift the balance of Orb income from the crafters and spread it among the population assuming that if they make it BoE they lift the crafter restriction - which a logical step. The crafters that want them to be BoE due to competition in heroics for soulbound orbs, will find the competition gets worse. However, being able to buy 5 orbs off the AH, instead of running heroics, sounds a lot more palatable.
I suppose it depends on the reason you want the orbs, are you making gear for your guildies or for your alts? Then BoE would be the better way to go.
