Joe is on precarious terrain First of all, he can no longer rely on what he considered to be a very important coping mechanism street drugs, neighbourhood alcohol. The comfy blankey he snuggled with in order to help him through life is now gone. Then, when feeling scared and off-guard, the Captain-Doctors get in his face with their medical jargon to oppress him. Joe has to stay calm when they tell him that he is the male version of Sybil.
There is a documentary called, "The Marketing of Madness" and Joe read about it while in the treatment center. But appearances are deceiving. Digging deep beneath the corporate veneer, this three-part documentary exposes the truth behind the slick marketing schemes and scientific deceit that conceal a dangerous and often deadly sales campaign. There is no blood test. There is no urine test. There is no biopsy. There is nothing that objectively proves that there's anything physiologically or biochemically wrong that's creating your symptoms.
He must tap into his self-restraint and summon a breezy yet respectful tone as he questions their diagnosis. If Joe possessed neither emotional intelligence nor impulse control he would completely unravel in front of the doctors' eyes. At the very least it would prove he is "imbalanced". The best way for him to react to ANY bullshit being thrown in his face is with calm. Joe feels traumatized. Once he is able to process his emotions without any chemicals he can see how truly spooky their system is.
They want to keep him "dumbed down" and numbed out and then he will less likely speak up and say how frightening their method of operating is. He knows in his sane heart of hearts that the powers that be are truly out to get him.
Joe thinks that treatment centers can and have saved the lives of serious drug addicts and alcoholics but they also have the power to ruin lives. They need to develop compassion, prioritize the patient's well-being and stop thinking of ONLY the bottom-line. They need to end their marketing of insanity and develop a conscience. Joe wasn't psyched to be a guinea pig but he learned a lot.
His suggestions to the institution would be: A. Employ an herbalist B. Employ several acupuncturists C. Put in a Jamba Juice let people get high on ginger-carrot juice.
Joe would like the institutionalized medical experience to feel like less of a punishment to an "addict" and more of an opportunity to restructure their priorities and goals. Another promise, another seed Another, packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the, green belts wrapped around our minds And endless red tape to keep the truth confined So come on The NY Times columnist, David Brooks, wrote a recent article called, "How to Fight the Man".
It is much like this song by Muse.. It is a thought-provoking kick in the pants to all people disenchanted with the current state of religion, politics and corporate America. Brooks suggests that if a person feels he has received an incomplete education that he should dig in and study. He wrote, "The old leftists had dialectical materialism and the Marxist view of history. Libertarians have Hayek and von Mises. Various spiritual movements have drawn from Transcendentalism, Stoicism, Gnosticism, Thomism, Augustine, Tolstoy, or the Catholic social teaching that inspired Dorothy Day.
They helped people explain why the things society values are not the things that should be valued. They gave movements a set of organizing principles.
We all have gaps in our knowledge base and ignorances we can remedy. He seems to be telling us to get wise. Muse is singing that truth shouldn't be some hidden corporate vendetta against innocent civilians.
Why must we deal with oppressively complex situations and obstructive, time-consuming procedures just to learn what makes these fat cats tick? Their money making tactics can make us feel like we have been through an antiquated mangle-machine. It seems Brooks and Muse are encouraging Joe America to rip the face off of the evil-doers! They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious So come on Americans need to open our eyes and take notes.
We must not allow big business to "force, control and degrade" us. We must rebel against the stifling plot! We should be able to effectuate change with small steps which might LOOK like inadequate outbursts, but which ultimately make a difference.
Feeble spasms is a derogatory name for "attempts", which is better than sitting back and doing nothing. If we work hard to "Fight the Man" by engaging in a dialogue with him, we just might be victorious. Interchanging mind control Come let the, revolution takes its toll If you could, flick the switch and open your third eye You'd see that, we should never be afraid to die So come on Media is all around and it is a mass corporate conspiracy. All of the major corporations are in cahoots with each other.
Many of these institutions are seemingly impenetrable marketing machines. The sooner Joe America realizes their goal is to take him down, the better off he'll be.
He is now realizing that the world can be incredibly destructive. He needs to watch his own back. Joe feels isolated and alone, but he knows "they" are watching him.
Joe learned the hard way that there is no such thing as on-line privacy. Those in control know virtually everything about him.
They know everything he buys, where he goes for entertainment, who his friends are, the name of the man he is in Love with, etc. Joe is running around his town like a trapped mouse in a cage. He thinks they are trying to brainwash him but he will have none of it. He is not afraid of any Captain who tries to kill him.
Throughout the chaos, somehow, Joe has a center which holds In reviewing over policy issues, they found: "Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.
My Interpretation I think Uprising is telling people to get together and fight the government when it treats us unfair and trying to control the opinions and rights of people. It's about brain washing, mind control, lies - in form of PR. I'm not sure but I think that the Green belts are the rules and the laws we have and I'm positive that "red tape" is bureaucracy Regulations, paperwork etc.
The greedy banks got stuffed with people's money and at last they had a heart attack. It was just a matter of time. We shouldn't have been surprised about it. That is how I interpret Uprising but maybe I'm wrong! That's the great thing about Muse songs - You don't always know how to interpret them and what they actually are singing about, because they often have a meaning more deep than we think they have : Tozze on January 27, Link.
The 'red tape' refers to celebrities, entertainment, and Hollywood. They keep us distracted and away from the truth. We will no longer be slaves!!!!!!!!! No Replies Log in to reply. General Comment illuminati hurtman on July 01, Link. Don't people see it? Can you not realise you're forced to work?
It's not conspiracy, it's logic. Is it really about the book ? It might be related to it, but I think it's more about today's reality, you just don't realise it. Looks like the world is finaly unifying against this stuff. OT: I completely agree with you dynnnad on October 15, You fail to appreciate any true move toward independent rationality. Blackened89 on October 30, It's really annoying. Besides it makes you sound childish, immature, and extremely not credible. American's love to use "z" when traditionally English was a "s".
My Opinion "The paranoia is in bloom, the P-R Transmissions will resume" The evening news thrives when they grip the public in paranoia.
Their motive is not to deliver news. It is to keep you glued to the screen. Their resounding theme for economical growth is 'consumer spending' so they keep the public trapped in the neverending cycle of consumerism and greed.
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined" To me, this could mean the fear of environmental collapse on our planet. And then the real climate issues are shrouded in red tape, politicised and regulated in such a way to bring the government more power.
Less freedom. More government power. Come let the revolution take its toll if you could flick a switch and open your third eye, you'd see that we should never be afraid to die" The unprecedented focus on self today means that no one is willing to make the sacrifices to make the change we all desperately need. When in truth, we have evolved into beings that are dependent on government and are unable to take care of our own selves. We need to put our petty differences aside and take back the power we've given to big governments and big corporations!
Just wanted to say.. Nicely put my freind.. With one exception Sammy. Britannica English: Translation of uprising for Arabic Speakers.
